THEODOSIVS P F AVG Pearl-diademed, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Theodosius II facing slightly to right, holding spear in his right hand and with a shield, decorated with horseman attacking a fallen foe, over his left shoulder. Rev. SALVS REI PVBLICAE / CONOB Theodosius II seated facing on the left and Valentinian III standing facing on the right, both wearing consular robes and holding a mappa in their right hands and a cross in their left; above, star. Depeyrot 78/1. RIC 234. An excellent piece with a splendid portrait. Light scratches on the reverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
